  • Vehicle/ Algorithm Development:
  • Responded to requests for chassis control algorithm development/ calibration and troubleshooting assistance for customer and core/ demonstration vehicles.
  • Supported test trips as necessary for customer application development at various test tracks and customer sites in the US/ Europe.
  • Performed lead application engineer duties for a recently unveiled hypercar project which include - software integration work - implementation of quick fixes to the CAN communication layer of the prototype software and setting up initial calibrations based on the characterization of foundation brake hardware, IMU, wheel speed sensors, electronic parking brake, etc. in order to facilitate the vehicle commissioning event.
  • Performed lead application engineer duties for an electric vehicle startup project which include- software integration work, electrical systems/ brake actuator system debugging, ABS/ Regen Control testing and calibration.
  • Supported "Big Three" vehicle project by performing the following duties - software reflashing and diagnostics tool support, CAN Rx and Tx testing, data collection and analysis for FMS (fail-safe monitoring) and TCS (traction control) development/ testing, fault injection testing, ECU thermal testing.
  • Also, developed a Simulink/ StateFlow model for the plausibility test of a booster vacuum sensor.
  • Simulation:
  • Determined the framework required to perform closed-loop simulation of all the subsystems present inside the Controlled Brakes System for the previously mentioned hypercar project.
  • Worked along with fellow algorithm engineers, interns, and software engineers to translate all the hand-coded components into s-function blocks to create the controller model in Simulink.
  • Assisted the Model Based Auto-Code scripting team to create/ modify the Matlab scripts required for this activity.
  • Integrated a CarSim vehicle model with the controller model, which can then be used for functional testing and calibration.

Brake Control Systems Engineer

  • Calibrated various brake control systems viz. ABS (anti-lock braking), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), regenerative braking, and ESC (electronic stability control) for multiple vehicle platforms including sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, cargo vans, and an autonomous electric vehicle.
  • Tested vehicle performance by driving limit handling maneuvers from program-required DVP&R plan, FMVSS regulations, and Consumer Reports.
  • Implemented a legacy software on a novel redundancy-based dual hydraulic unit set up in an autonomous electric vehicle by performing the software integration work; characterized the system behavior by injecting hardware/ software faults; implemented logic fixes and thereby improving overall safety.
  • Led program validation efforts by providing directions to drivers/ technicians; planned test trips to proving grounds across the US; performed data reduction & analysis, and ensured that the customer and internal specifications are met.
  • Supplied technical expertise and communicated performance-related program issues to customers, internal team members, and management.

Gasoline Engine Control Trainee

  • Developed a state machine model using Simulink and MotoHawk to differentiate between RPM values of GM Ecotec 2.4L Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine and implemented a PID controller in order to control the amount of fuel injected.
  • Verified and validated the auto-generated C++ code by performing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing using NI VeriStand.
  • Successfully ran the GM Ecotec engine in different states, viz. stall, crank, and run by flashing this code onto the ECU.
