The management of technical resources and onboard maintenance, right exploitation and technical condition of ship’s engine, hull and all technical devices.
Ensuring the vessel complies with all Flag, Class and other regulatory bodies and local, national and international laws; controlling and monitoring all costs and expenditure related to the onboard management of the vessel; providing personnel safety and seaworthiness of the vessel; personally taking charge in emergency situations involving machinery; ensuring optimum efficiency of fuel, lubricating oil and stores; ensuring all transfers are according to procedures and safe practice; completing technical reports; carrying out regular inspections of all plants and equipment; investigating non-conformities and applying corrective actions; ensuring statutory and class surveys are being carried out on all plant and equipment covered by such survey requirements; promoting good communication and co-operation amongst crew members and departments.
Others:
- new building project - vessel delivery,
- prepared specification for the vessel for the dry dock and executing these repairs/overhauls in shipyard - twice.
Maintain and Update Documentation - including: updating of PMS, stores and ROB's, inventories, ordering of spares and goods;
Engine Room Management - including: maintenance of all the engine room and deck machinery, jobs: planning, prioritizing and distributing, problems solving, implementing and/or ensuring that rules, regulations, policies, codes and systems are followed accordingly to demand of company, local and/or international law, ensuring personnel safety and good practice, guidance and training of juniors, watch keeping duties; responding quickly to all malfunctions.
Engine Room House Keeping - including: bilge, garbage and sewage management as per regulation, storing tools and stores in recorded amount and locations in safe way.
Maintain and Update Documentation - including: oil record book, FFA and LSA record book, engine room log book;
Engine room operations - including: watch keeping duties, overseeing of all working machinery, maintenance and repairs of all the engine room and deck machinery, complying with rules, regulations, policies, codes and systems accordingly to demand of company, local and/or international law, assisting in troubleshooting, being responsible for operation and maintenance of LSA, FFA and emergency equipment.
