Summary

During my professional career I have done countless translations between Polish and English. Two novels translated into Polish are my biggest works in terms of volume. Becoming writer and editor of the TVN24 News in English website has been my biggest achievement by far. I have also cooperated with numerous NGOs such as Lambda Warszawa, demosEuropa, Kultura Liberalna, International Young Naturefriends and In IUSTITIA - with the last two during my stay in Prague. I am able to deliver a high-quality translation or text in both Polish and English in a wide range of categories. Since 2012, I have been working in a very dynamic environment of a live TV newsroom and control room. This type of work requires strong resolve, ability to perform quickly under pressure as well as excellent communication skills. TVN24 is a leading news outlet in Poland. In 2018, I became the managing editor of the TVN24 News in English website and have been working in this role since then.

  • I am currently responsible for running the TVN24 News in English website, as well the News in English Facebook profile
  • My job is to write and publish news regarding the most important events from the world of politics, economy, social affairs and other fields
  • Preparing a successful news piece involves writing and translating as well as video and picture editing
  • Posted and promoted articles on social media platforms to engage target audience.
  • Checked reference sources to verify dates, facts and statistics.
  • Collaborated with graphics department to develop and implement visual elements.
  • Devised attention-grabbing headlines and summaries to increase clicks and engagement.
  • The work involves cooperation with editors and producers from all the other sections of the internet portal as well as the television section
  • As a member of the Infographics Section I was responsible for writing online captions, subtitles and preparing graphic information for on-air use during live television news programs
  • In order to successfully fulfill my duties I had to be in constant contact with producers, technicians and presenters
  • Work in the main control room during live programs is a high-pressure job that requires quick decision-making and performing several tasks at a time.
