Even though the official job title may sound dull, my current employer, Sterling Outsourcing, works with financial institutions, so the actual day-to-day tasks involve assisting the Corporate Action department. This includes processing the requests from corporations to inform their shareholders about potential administrative or legal changes, and preparing documentation for these cases. Additionally, this involves answering customers' questions if they have any after we send them instructions, and processing transfers/additional orders if the customer/corporation requests so. In our group, I am responsible for reporting the results of our work to the manager.
Work in Russian and English.
My day-to-day tasks were concerned with assisting with reading the logistical and financial statements produced by other agents, preparing spreadsheets with calculations and financial planning and compiling brief reports to the management. Due to the nature of the work and the fact that it was performed during my University summer break after one year of studying economics, I was frequently asked to assist the economic department of the firm with the calculations.
As may be apparent from the languages, I love linguistics. My interest ranges from watching random documentaries about peculiar features of some languages on YouTube to actually learning some, like Japanese, that has become the passion of my life. Truly the most beautiful language of them all. Fun fact, the reason I decided to learn Japanese in the first place is because of my love for Japanese music, primarily rock. Pretty much about 90% of all music I have been listening to since I was about 13 (now 20) were in Japanese. After learning the basic grammar, I could learn by just listening and reading lyrics, so this is what probably attracts me in this highly practical educational environment. Now I can understand documentaries in Japanese, and, which comes without saying in German and Polish, too.
In my free time, I enjoy sport. I hit the GYM three to four times a week and am really passionate about it. I also run and do yoga regularly, and my life experience tells my that I am going to meet people sharing my interests in the environment of people seeking to deepen their knowledge and advance their careers, something that has been proven in both my academic and work environments.
