5-years with company from Deck Cadet to Third Officer I have kept an effective navigation and cargo watch and frequently conducted mooring operations. In my current rank I am responsible for inspections and maintenance of LSA, SOPEP and GMDSS equipment, preparation and care of crew's, flag's and port's documents, emergency/mustering plans, planning and executing drills. I have taken part in pre-docking, docking and post-docking operations on board. I have thoroughly understudied and gained skills regarding Second Officer duties (e.g. creating passage plans, updating electronic and paper charts and publications, care & maintenance of FFE and Medical etc.).
I have been cooperating with Gdynia Maritime University since I have completed my cadetship on their training vessels. I have been promoted to Chief Officer this year and I have been assigned as a Safety, Security and Training Officer on board, responsible for management of crew and students (about 200 peoples), LSA, FFE, SOPEP, GMDSS equipment, preparation and execution of ship’s maintenance plan, port documents, drills, stability calculations, garbage and ballast water management, implementation of ISM, ISPS and other regulations. I have been cooperating with hotel department regarding accommodation of students and passengers and organizing banquets for official guests. I have been responsible for anchoring and supervision of a bridge team during mooring operations.
