• Alkana Trading is a transport company based in South Africa , it operates cross border trucks across the SADC region , that is South Africa , Zimbabwe, Zambia , Malawi, Mozambique and Botswana.
• Duties:
• Supervision of loading and unloading.
• Securing the load according to type of the load .
• Occasional changing of blown out bulbs , greasing fifth wheel .
• Pre and post inspection of the truck and trailer , checking oil levels , coolant , lights , wheel nuts and pressure of the tyres.
• Sending pods and refuel receipts , using pdf format .
• Submitting customs documents to customs officers and clearing agents .
• Adhering to the speed limit of the roads I was driving on.
• Ensuring that the truck is tidy both interior and exterior .

• Sipes Express Company, is a transport company based in South Africa
• It operates crossborder across SADC region, mostly South Africa, Botswana , Zambia , Zimbabwe , Democratic republic of Congo, Mozambique
• It specializes in break bulk and hazardous goods .
• Duties:
• Supervision of loading and unloading.
• Supervision of loading hazardous goods according to their classes and mixed load.
• Securing the load .
• Adhering to the route plan and speed limit on transportation of hazardous goods .

Elkor transport, is transport company based in Poland and it specialise in reefer (refrigerated)across Europe.

My duties as reefer driver are as follows,

*Daily inspection of the truck and trailer.

*Setting the right temperature on the reefer provided by the dispatcher.

*Pre cooling the reefer before loading.

*Checking the temperature on the Cmr and the one provided by the dispatcher if they tally.

*Routine check on the route if the reefer is maintaining the the required temperature.

Loading and unloading of the frozen and non frozen goods as per request from the customer.

*Checking the inside temperature of the reefer before loading with a thermometer.

• P.W.Romix is a transport company based in Poland.It specializes in international transport across Europe.They have a fleet of more than 100 trucks .They have different makes of trucks , Scania , Daf , Mercedes Benz and Man
• The majority are Euro 6 diesel powered and LNG powered, the trailers are curtain sides .
• My duties include :
• Daily pre and post truck and trailer inspection checks and updating them on transics onboard device .
• Loading and unloading different types of goods and forwarding the relevant CMR and other documents like liefershein.
• Finding the best routes from loading points to unloading points.
• Making sure I have secured my load according to the EU regulations.
• Operating the tachograph and observing driving and the rest times according to the EU regulations.
• Changing of the blown out bulbs , greasing the fifth wheel, and making sure the truck is clean inside and outside.
• Doing pallet exchange , checking the condition of the pallets and putting them into the pallet box.
