  • The College of medical sciences, University of Calabar, formed the Department of community health Research program to introduce medical students to the basics of clinical research by helping them understand medical literature and improve their ability to review or critique a research paper critically.
  • Led a team that conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study on the prevalence and factors affecting patient satisfaction among diabetes service users at the University of Calabar teaching hospital.
    -Contribution: Literature search, Questionnaire creation, Data collection and analysis, and Interpretation of results.
  • During this period, I joined a group of students to form the research hub-An innovation to help medical students in third world countries develop a research interest and understand the basics of research and how to carry out research work successfully. In the past 6 months, we have been able to publish about 3 articles in peer reviewed journal looking at medical students perspective on research,currently I and some other members are working on a manuscript

  • Conducted health education on the mode of acquisition of the disease and how Individuals can prevent it using basic health maintenance strategies.
  • Assisted as the first line of care in a county health center for people with febrile illnesses so that appropriate testing could be carried out and positive cases referred appropriately.
  • Monitored and supervised vaccine storage, use, management, and disposal in the health center
  • Collected Data on the number of people tested, those vaccinated, number of cases and mortality, plus those who recovered so that it can be sent to the state epidemiology department and national center for Disease Control.
