I served as Program Assistant for the ELIKIA (HOPE) project, funded by the NED Foundation. The project focused on strengthening the response to violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity among sexual and gender minorities in the Republic of Congo.
I simultaneously held the role of Program Manager at Cœur Arc-en-cielduring this period, while also overseeing the coordination of the above-mentioned project. The project was funded by Initiative 5% through Expertise France.
National Researcher within the framework of the project "Pour Moi, Pour les Autres" (For Me, For Others), a project aimed at improving the mental health and well-being of French speaking LGBTQI activists in Haiti and Cameroon, and more broadly in the Caribbean and Central and East Africa. The project was supported by the Acting Together for Inclusion Fund, funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada, and managed by Equitas in partnership with Dignity Network Canada.
• I organized focus groups and/or interviews with LGBTQI activists, using a standardized questionnaire to gather information on their experiences, the situation, and their mental health and well-being needs. I identified local and regional resilience strategies in their countries, as well as their recommendations.
• I wrote a comprehensive case study (maximum 2,000 words) based on the data collected from LGBTQI activists, which includes:
- I provided a brief summary of the demographic information of the participants/interviewees (e.g., the number of LGBTQI activists, their age, gender, etc.) (between 50 and 100 words).
- I included a brief summary reviewing the situation and needs regarding activists' mental health and well-being, and I identified local resilience strategies. This section is based on my desk research and interviews with other stakeholders (between 400 and 500 words).
- I presented any contextual elements I considered relevant for writing this report (between 200 and 300 words).
- I summarized the discussions with the participants, question by question. I included quotes or stories they shared that may be used in the final briefing document (between 800 and 900 words).
- I concluded with a brief summary of all the information gathered (between 100 and 200 words).
The project was funded by the French Embassy in Congo.
